   We bought this for my mom 3 years ago, but she found the shelves difficult to open (metal shelving sliding on a plastic projection from the inside of the case), so we took it from her and got her a different brand. It worked OK although Sonoma pinot noir bottles only fit on a few shelves without jamming them in. Ours did die after water damage from the downpours this winter (basement). They offered a 40% discount from their preferred retailer. That retailer’s price was about 40% higher than idealwinecoolers.com, and shipping added significantly to the overall cost. We went with a different brand this time. It worked fine, but not for pinot lovers.

   The shipping process was a pain, but it got me a 10% discount so I can live with that. Once I got it setup and level it works like a champ and used a thermometer to verify it’s within a degree of what it’s set to. The blue LEDs seem pointless because if you have the top row full almost no light gets down to lower levels. The shelves are very deep and I was able to stack bottles in both directions although stacking bottles of different size on a single shelf doesn’t really work and is a pain to keep neat. The majority of the bottles I have are larger than a Bordeaux and I was able to fit around 100 without optimizing each shelf for space. I haven’t noticed any unusual vibrations from the compressor that the other reviewer mentioned.

   Awesome! Great purchase experience. Perfect stylish appearance, and perfect storage and display unit for an expanding collection. The trays slide nicely and it looks great in the cabinet. It has a soft blue glow. It keeps the wine at perfect temperature .Also adjusts easily for leveling.More Cost-effective than others.

   I think this is a great product and I was tempted to give it 5 stars but I deducted 1 star because I think that it comes with too few shelves. I was able to contact the company and order two more shelves. It is clear that it only comes with 4 shelves but I think it works better with 6. Maybe the extra shelves will decrease the number of bottles that will fit, but right now 6 shelves is working well for my needs. Otherwise the temperature is pretty steady and I think it looks great. A couple other small complaints the locking mechanism only locks at the bottom and is pretty flimsy. I don’t need the lock so its not a big problem. Also the compressor makes a thump when it kicks in which can be a little annoying. The manual said this is normal so I am not worried about it and like I said everything is working great its just a little annoyance. Also should mention the shelves are really sturdy which is good since if you look at the pictures the idea is that you stack a bunch of bottles on each shelf. One other suggestion for improvement. The shelves only pull out a short distance. It would be nicer if they could pull out at least halfway then you could see better what is on each shelf. I suppose I could flip the shelf around and then it would not have the stop and could be pulled out all the way. I like the catch, I just wish it was a little further out.
