After researching a number of wine refrigerators for my lakehouse, I bought this model last summer. It was easy to install in the space previously occupied by a ice maker and looks and works great. Some reviewers commented on the noise – but it is so quiet I hardly know it is running. The temperature range is good for reds or whites and the shelves are removable so you can fit larger bottles in the unit.
As for Whynter customer service – I rate it 5 stars. Within a week of installing the refrigerator, I had a problem with the door lock. The metal tab that is designed to extend out of the bottom of the door to lock the refrigerator didn’t work properly and kept dropping down and blocking the door from opening/closing. I contacted customer service, explained my problem and sent a few pictures and within a few days they shipped me a new door to replace the faulty one.
The wine refrigerator has been a nice addition – glad I made the purchase.

Seems like all wine fridges have poor ratings on idealwinecoolers.com, but I needed one so I went with the Whynter 33 bottle. For 2 years it worked great, but stopped cooling after 2 years. After looking at the Whynter website, it looks like my fridge needs a fuse replaced. Luckily I bought a SquareTrade warranty ($40) at the time I purchased this fridge. SquareTrade is sending me a check for the price I paid for the fridge (minus tax). I wouldn’t recommend to buy this fridge seeing as how there are a ton of other reviews with the same problem. The factory warranty looks like crap and requires you to pay for shipping.

Good value, a little noisy

Every bit I was expecting it to be. Very sleek and stylish. Has a nice soft white night light. Very little vibration and motors is quiet. Overall very happy with this unit.

So far so good, but have only had it 3 weeks. It does cycle on and off A LOT but the tech people say that is normal. A bit on the noisy side but certainly cools the white wine nicely. Nice looking unit too.
*****Update Oct/2015 – unit has quit cooling. Customer service is very nice at Whynter – but tech people don’t respond with even a quote. From everything I know, this unit cannot be repaired anywhere close to me so if I want it repaired it will require a cost prohibitive shipping cost. Very expensive 1 year wine cooler. For these types of things I will now only buy from Costco – where service is so good – you just take it back and get a new one. Done!

It’s a big hassel for me. I bought it back in 2016, immediately there was an issue with the control board. I drove all the way to the US to ship it to its Whynter then picked it up after. It’s 2 trips. Then idealwinecoolers.com came back and said why didn’t I just returned but it was a lot of work done already. Anyway, just 3 years after warranty, the control board went again. First it was just shutting off on its own intermittently, but then more frequent, and now it’s dead. It’s embarrasing. Well, since it’s COVID nobody came to my place but now they first thing people will ask, why didn’t you turn on your wine celler?
