This has been running this since the holidays and it’s been perfect. The dimensions were true to size and fit nicely in our cabinet. Blended in nicely with our new oak cabinets. It’s exactly the size of 2 trash compactor spaces (24″ in total width) and is built as a front venting in cabinet unit. Big heavy door with and nice smooth handle. I had a 15″ unit may years ago and this is a big upgrade with the gliding shelves and dual cooling areas. The clean light colored wood trim makes this very posh. It cools almost true to the displayed temp (I monitored it using an additional thermometer for about 2 weeks). Once I had it installed it’s as quiet as my KitchenAid fridge and looks great in the rebuilt kitchen.
Update 6/1/2015
Working perfectly. Very pleased with it to date.

We looked at wine fridges for months. My husband’s old electronic one died. We wanted one with a compressor, wood shelves, not the wire junk and one we could put anywhere, whether in the kitchen or sunroom. It’s in the sunroom, makes very little noise and love the dual zones. The only downside was the delivery, which was less than stellar. I chose 4p-7p and they showed up at 1:45p. Of course no one was home. I was across town and my neighbors all work. I ended up having them drive the fridge to my office and the next day I had to bring our truck to work to bring it home. But, since I’m rating the fridge itself no sense in downgrading the quality of the fridge. We’ve only had it a week and look forward to many years of buying and storing wine!

This unit, while loud, cooled very well for 21 months. After that point, it wouldn’t cool at all. The wood and steel look is very nice, but it doesn’t make up for the fact that this fridge didn’t even last two years. This fridge is great if you A. don’t want it to cool anything or B. only need your beverages cooled for a few months. Garbage.

Seems to be working just fine. Keeps my reds at 51 and whites at 41. Temperature DOES NOT fluctuate at all. Rock Solid so far.

This product is not a quality build product. The wine refrigerator is noisy, the door is crooked, and the bottom door piece was missing a screw. Buy a different manufacturer.

Have had this unit for about three weeks. Some pros but mostly cons here…
Pros: It’s a very nice looking unit. The wood drawers blend very well with the hardwood cabinets in our kitchen.
Cons: Not sure if this particular unit is defective but it is noisy, noisy, noisy! Very easy to hear in the living room adjacent to our kitchen.
Temperature in the lower zone has fluctuated wildly. During some hours it will read 58 degrees while other times it read 67 degrees.
This one is going back…

Don’t buy this wine cooler. We have had ours a little over 3 years and it’s done. Tried to contact Whynter and they do not supply parts. Want us to ship all the way to California $220 plus new compressor $300 plus and then charge to ship back. They have a deal! They know no one will pay to do all that. You Can buy a new one cheaper. Hate the fact you can not find good products that last anymore. And businesses that just don’t care .

We ordered this for our new kitchen. I strongly recommend purchasing something like this elsewhere. By the time we set this fridge up and had it running for awhile, we were past the 1 month return window for idealwinecoolers.com. We loved it when we first set it up. Looked great. Drawers were a bit stiff. Thought it would loosen up but it hasn’t yet. We noticed that it was a bit louder than we would have wanted but it looked so good and it was full of wine! Then is got really loud! We turned off the fan. Now the compressor is crazy loud. Had to turn it off altogether!! idealwinecoolers.com will not take it back so we now have to deal with the manufacturer. Like I said…idealwinecoolers.com may not be the best place for this purchase.

The unit worked fine for about 4-5 months and then started to not cool properly. We contacted the service department who attempted to trouble shot the problem via email for several weeks. In the end, they were not able to resolve the issue. They authorized a return to them and they would either repair or replace. The only issue is that with packing and shipping I will need to spend $390 to “repair” a $750 unit as I live in Chicago and the company is in California. I asked if they would simply provide a new unit at a discounted price to save everyone time and expense the reply was no.
Now I have a wine cooler that does not work and no local repair companies can work on the unit. Stuck with a bad unit unless I risk spending another $390. Be cautious.
