Such a great little wine fridge! We’ve had it in place for several months now, and have had no issues with build quality. We plugged it in, switched it on, adjusted the temp, and it’s done just what it should. We don’t hear it switch on or off, and we spend quite a lot of time near it, either sitting at the island or in the nearby dining area. It looks wonderful, and the two zones is a wonderful feature. One of my very favourite parts of our kitchen renovation, and definitely worth the money.

I had this put into the kitchen about 2 months ago. We originally planned to have a 15″ unit installed but ended up with a design that gave us room for a 12″ unit. No regrets getting this. It holds 17 standard bottles and has a really nice looking facade. I had a built-in KitchenAid unit in our last house and this is by far much nicer. We love having the dual zones for different wines. So far we’re very satisfied with it.

I liked the style and fact that it is 2 zone. I dislike that it only lasted a little over a year. The compressor went and the fridge stopped cooling. I contacted the company and they wanted almost the cost of a new fridge to fix the old one. Doesn’t make any sense. I ended up buying a new fridge from another company. Don’t buy a Whytner

The case is prone to dents and dings, which is really OK since it’s meant to be under-counter. The brushed metal on the front, however, is sturdy and robust. I had the unit free-standing in the corner, and it was relatively loud, compared to my main Whilrpool fridge. It also really does hold 17 bottles, and is good for cans as well.
BUT. about 6 weeks after a recent move, and 6 months after I bought it, it no longer cooled. The warranty covers repair shipping to California for only two months, and after that, shipping to California is on me. Likely will be in the hundreds to properly ship something this heavy.
Stay away from this humming hunk o junk.

I am very satisfied with this unit, except for one small complaint – you have to be careful when pulling out the racks, as they are not very well restrained, and if you are not careful, they can come all the way out unexpectedly (and ruin a perfectly good $5 bottle of wine!). On the positive side, this unit is well made, and (importantly) it is very quiet. It is a true refrigerator, not a solid state cooler, so I was a little concerned about the possibility of noise, but it makes only a soft purring sound when the compressor is in operation. We had it in the bedroom while waiting for our kitchen to be completed, and we hardly noticed it even a few feet from the bed. The controls and display are intuitive and effective, without unnecessary complexity. The light can be controlled by the door, or turned on permanently, which was a nice touch. Temperature control is accurate and consistent. If the racks were a little better designed, I would give this 5 stars.

I bought this unit when we were remodeling out kitchen. The unit is visually appealing and fits snugly in my 12″ wide opening. The unit worked properly for a while but then all of sudden, wouldn’t cool our wine. I reached out to customer service (Lexie M. with Whynter) and rec’d a prompt reply asking some questions and provided troubleshooting tips. After several emails back and forth, we concluded that I wasn’t going to be able to fix whatever the issue was. Lexie helped figure out a solution to ship the unit back to be fixed (or replaced if a fix wasn’t possible). While I was disappointed the product stopped working, I am happy with the level of customer service and their ability to find a quick and reasonable solution. Thanks!

So far is a great product. I bought this when renovating my kitchen. For now I has it run for three weeks and works perfectly. I bet once is installed under the counter the noise will not be heard to much. The coldest zone is great for beers bottles. The product arrived super fast. Packaging was fine, no scratches on the unit.
I would recommend this product to a friend.
Update review after 5 years of continuous working.
I noticed that the unit was running all the time. I thought it was one of the fans but both are working. I might need to call a technician. I thought the life time of this product would be at least 10 years. Guess I was wrong.

Bought this wine fridge and the winter ice maker at the same time. The pump on the ice maker went out after a year and a half. I bought the extended warranty so I was able to buy the pump and put it in myself and they reimbursed the cost of the pump. Would have been several months to ship it to them 30 miles from me and have it fixed and sent back. 4 years later the compressor on the wine fridge goes out. They want $200 to fix it, $70 to ship it back even though I could drive it there and my cost to pack it and ship it to them. Can’t walk it in or pick it up. Stupid. And no I will not buy another winter product again. It’s all crap! Don’t buy!!

I’d love to be able to rate this for real; but after having to return 2 different units because neither would never cool, I can’t. The first was shipped upside down(product box was upside down inside idealwinecoolers.com shipping box)and it never would cool even after sitting unplugged for 2 days. The second arrived damaged and the refrigerant was venting out when it ran (but never cooled)to the point you could smell it when the door was open. Sadly this cooler looks great and was the perfect fit for our space. Wished either of them had worked. The only upside is that the return process was flawless.

The first one I received had would not keep temperature in either top or bottom section. Had a replacement sent out, same issue with temperature and the compressor was very loud. Very disappointing.
