    This is a well made cooler that I was able to snag when it went on sale. Cooled quickly and is holding temperature. Holds the full 44 bottles as advertised on wooded shelves. Not the quietest cooler but not objectionable. It’s an excellent value and with a name like Schmecke it has to be good.

    The first one we had ordered never made to us because it was damaged in transit at no fault to seller or idealwinecoolers.com! In fact, idealwinecoolers.com was very good about updating, canceling and refunding our order so we could reorder another unit ASAP while the carrier dealt with the damaged unit internally. Once it did finally arrive, I have to say it is a heavy unit so have 2 people lift it. Once in place it was a simple plug in and wait for it to adjust temperature properly as suggested in manual to wines being stored. We purchased this wine refrigerator as an upgrade from our Electrolux 18 bottle unit so quality, temperature control, appearance, energy efficiency and noise volume was very important along with spacious storage for the larger bottles of champagnes and ice wines that we collect. This being said, the shelves are on the narrow side making it difficult to slide the trays out and access these bottles. I believe it is the wood lip on shelf that, although stylish, is preventing us from doing this. Overall, we really like the appearance and performance of this refrigerator with the exception of the narrow shelves and have already filled this to capacity. Already wishing we went with an even larger one but only had a narrow space to work with.
