   I want to start by saying I actually love this fridge and the matching beverage fridge we got for our built in bar. It is very quiet and stores quite a bit of wine, though sparkling wine bottles are another matter, you can only put 3 bottles of those per shelf. The biggest issue we ran into is that we had to have this fridge replaced because it had dents on the front and back, which the company did give us a discount and ship us a new one. Then the replacement ALSO had a dent in the back. We decided to keep it anyways because we could hide that dent. It’s just frustrating. This fridge and the beverage fridge (which we also had a replacement shipped for) – 4 fridges total – all had the dent in the exact same spot!
   So overall, if you work with the company they are helpful, but know that there will be a small dent somewhere, regardless. 🤦‍♀️

   I’ve been on the hunt for a wine cooler that can handle my bigger bottles of wine, the Pinots, something that gives a shelving option not just a piling alternative. This unit works – Comfee Wine Cellar CRW29S3AST – but to keep the labels intact and not scraping against the racks the total capacity is reduced to about half of the 29 regular bottle capacity. I can fit about 15 Pinot bottles if I keep all of the shelving in place. If I use the piling approach I can comfortably fit 20 bottles – that’s sliding out two of the shelves. The metal racks handle the weight well (I went with a 7-bottle max per shelf), there’s good support from the sides with secure ledges. Additional Notes: When this cooler arrives, it’s an easy open. There’s a base, and then the entire box is a lift-off reveal. It’s very important to let the cooler sit before plugging it in. The coolant needs to settle. The directions say 30 minutes, but 2 hours is a common rule of thumb. I have the unit sitting on carpet so needed to adjust the two knobs on the bottom to raise the legs and give some clearance. The door opens from the left, but can be converted. I have another difficult-to-store wine bottle, 1” longer than normal standards. It fits on the cooler’s lowest shelf – the bottom horizontal rack. This is a good, decent unit but lacks the premier luxe finishes. The wire racks are easy to slide out for different storage needs. It accommodates odd shapes and sizes. The unit is very quiet.

   Received the wine cooler early yesterday. It was well packed and came without any noticeable damage. I had purchased a sturdy table to put it on since I have back problems and leaning over is uncomfortable. That works perfectly. I plugged it in and checked it after about 3 hours and it was cooling nicely. I put in some wine bottles, some bottles of water and a few beers and this morning everything was chilled. Very little noticeable sound when it’s cooling. My only issue is that I wish there was a replacement shelf that I could buy to have one shelf to stand up beverages on. I checked online and could not find one.

   This wine cooler is represented to be a dual zone, what they don’t state is that there is a solid shelf, between the upper zone and lower. 12 bottles can be stored in the upper zone and 16 in the lower zone. In essence there are two separate area’s, but the lower zone is so much warmer that it effects the overall performance of the unit. When setting the temperature in the upper zone to 57F, the lower zone can only be set at 61F or higher. Measuring the “actual temperature” with a high precision digital thermometer, the upper zone is 58F, but the lower zone is 64F. The unit advertises that the shelves are adjustable – they are fixed and cannot be adjusted up or down. Shelves must be extended fully to remove or replace a wine bottle, the shelves do not allow for space between the wine bottles, which effects the overall temperature of the bottle next to it. The shelves are represented to be high quality Beech, but they are flimsy and sag under the weight of a bottle. When a bottle is installed/removed (30-40 seconds) the inside temperature increased by 5+ degrees and then the compressor runs for 45+ minutes. The unit is advertised to have a stainless steel finish, the only area that resembles stainless steel is the trim of the door. The material used is more like polished steel because with the slightest touch a fingerprint remains. Buyer beware, this is really a low cost, 12 bottle cooler disguised as a 28 bottle with dual zones.

    Compressor buzzes at annoying frequency. Other units from different companies are quit. It makes me question durability. Disappointing purchase.
