Is This For You? Wine Cooler Review Verified Buyer –

Do your homework!!! Find a cooler that realizes that the 750ML bottles are all shaped differently. Sometimes the shoulders of the bottles are higher or wider. Any company designing wine coolers (refrigerators) should understand this but obviously they do not. All that would need to be done is to design each shelf slightly larger. No big deal. It seems all are built to the most common 750ML bottles. Save yourself a lot of frustration.

We have 4 of these wine coolers and they are working well for 6 years now. However we are needing a new condenser, condenser fan and compressor but can’t get them because they are so old. It won’t keep us from buying a new one.

I purchased an Avanti Wine cooler for a new house. The cooler stopped working within a year. The cooler is made in China and is poorly made. My warranty only covered the compressor which would have cost $500 to install. DO NOT BUY AVANTI products or a cooler made in China.

So far so good.

Product arrived with a dent in the top. We decided to let that go. Needed to swap the door to open from the other side. No detailed instructions in the manual. Found some information on-line with the FAQ. Didn’t work. Have to leave the door on the wrong side. Plugs wouldn’t come out. Installed the door handle. Added washers and the handle is still loose. Very disappointed and frustrated with the “some assembly required” process.

Bought this unit used and can’t find a manufacture date but it appears to be fairly new. Very loud and then compressor quit working. When it was working it would cycle every 15 minutes and run for a minute. That would drop the temperature down 3 degrees and then it would warm up in 15 minutes back to the temperature that would turn it back on. No wonder it didn’t last.

We purchased two of these models from a direct supplier. One is working flawlessly after two years. The second started leaking water and we shut it off. (This was attributed to water accumulation in the evaporation tray.) Turned it on after a week and it worked again. It is no longer working after 20 months (pending investigation). We also did not review model selection prior to purchase. It does not handle non-standard bottles well, but with careful placement, it can take more than the published capacity. Three stars as it works well and looks good – but only 1 of 2 kept working.

13 months into ownership, our Avanti dual zone wine cooler stopped working. I had a technician recommended to my by my dealer troubleshoot the wine cooler and was told it has a failed compressor and that it would be cheaper to replace the unit than try to repair it. I contacted Avanti and they said there are no authorized Avanti repair shops located near where I live. (I live 3 miles from Manhattan, NY in New Jersey). Customer support was a total disappointment. I’m replacing Avanti unit with another brand and discarding my 13 month old Avanti wine cooler.

Stay Away! Bought this unit from Best Buy and it failed after 13 months (12 month warranty) . After it failed I began looking at reviews (bought without reading them – mistake) and found numerous experiences from other buyers with the exact same problem.
Warranty approved shops are virtually impossible to find.
